Describe your part in the design process.

During design, I assess the feasibility of the project and determine if the client’s goals are achievable within their budget. I develop the scope of work and put together our final proposal before handing the project to the production team.

What is your favorite kind of project to work on?

I prefer whole home renovations. I like preserving the important architectural elements of a home while updating the aspects that are out of date. Building things the right way is important to me so I get excited about the work behind the walls -  the part that no one sees but makes for a lasting home.

Why design + build?

Design + Build allows us to provide a complete project.  We can provide a more complete set of plans that include cabinets, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, tile, trim, and other finish details that are not often shown on a typical set of architectural plans.  The process allows us to provide a comprehensive price and allows the construction process to move faster because we will have ordered all of the materials prior to starting the project.

What do you love about your work here at Scovell?

When confronted with challenges or problems, It is great to be a part of a team that is committed to working together to make things right.
