Cody is a Florida native who doesn’t miss the southern heat (!) though always misses his family and sometimes misses life in the country. But he’s grown to love exploring the city (especially the food scene) and has proudly called Kansas City “home” since 2019. He also enjoys cooking, working out and spending time with friends.

As a Field Mechanic, Cody enjoys the satisfaction of hands-on work. At the end of the day, he finds it rewarding to step back and see the progress made - everything from job protection at the start of a project to tackling the punch list.

Favorite tool?

My favorite tool is a brad nailer. Funny enough, it’s because the sound and feeling it makes is very satisfying. Also because it’s used for trim work and I enjoy those details.

What is your favorite kind of project to work on?

My favorite projects are kitchens because of my love of food and family. I see them as the center of a home where everyone comes together and the best things happen. They should be beautiful and inviting!

What do you love about your work here at Scovell?

I love that design is a priority. The project development team works with the client to dream up a beautiful plan and then the production team gets to make it happen. There’s a lot of enjoyment in working together efficiently, relying on one another’s strengths.
