Haley
Dunkak
Architectural Designer

Haley grew up in Kansas City, where she was taught from a young age how to draw perspectives from her grandpa, an artist. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Kansas State University and after a couple of years abroad joined Scovell in 2021. Outside of work, if she’s not with friends and family, you can usually find Haley baking, drawing or planning her next trip.

Describe your design aesthetic.

Classic and traditional. I’m drawn to architecturally rich spaces, trim work, nooks and crannies. I prefer neutrals and adding textures to add interest in a space, but also love to include moments of color and pattern.

What is your favorite kind of space to design?

Probably the kitchen! It’s a space you interact with daily, so it's important to think through every square inch to maximize functionality. And, at the same time, you spend so much time in the kitchen that it’s important to develop a beautiful space that is also engaging and interesting.

Who are some of your favorite instagram follows?

JH Interior Design, Historical Concepts, Katie LeClercq, Kristen Panitch Design, Unique Kitchens and Baths, Katie Rosenfeld and C. Brandon Ingram for hand drawings.

What do you love about your work here at Scovell?

One of my favorite things about working for Scovell is the shared mentality for excellence and doing things the right way. You can have confidence bringing up issues that arise and knowing that the team will immediately work together to reach a solution and make it right. I also love our holiday parties(:
